i like the science behind the cases of the original jdrama. I like the ones in this case as well.. like the magnet cannon using gaussian physics / momentum and supermagnets... if only the Mythbusters know about this and can investigate the validity of the experiments..see if they are really true or just showbiz special effects.
Detroit Metal City is adapted from a popular manga involving Soichi Negishi or the person who acted as L in Death Note, who although wanted to pursue his career of singing , crooning swedish pop tunes, however he ended up as the lead singer of a death metal band called DMC and he actually is quite good at it, leading the song charts in Japan. It shows the wierd antics involving the wierd twist of fate of his life and how he manages to rises to be the idol of his fans as well as how he pursue the girl of his dreams who doesn't really know about this alter ego of his.
i enjoyed both movies and i'm glad they finally have the dvds for them since i missed the chance to view both when they were in the theatres and i think the japanese actors and actresses are really good in their portrayal and expression of their onscreen characters...
one such example is actress Yasuko Matsuyuki who acted in both movies - in Suspect X, she acts as the beautiful lady boss of a bento store that is involved in the murder case. Her personality was more of a frail, passive lady who happens to be a single parent with a bad past as a bar hostess...
Whereas in DMC, she has a totally different persona and acts as the wild and crazy lady boss of the DMC band where she would terrorize the lead character and force him to do crazier acts each time in order to force/increase the ratings of the band.
the same chio bu.. but except over here.. she can put out her cigarette with her tongue..but don't let her flick her cigarette butt at you though...
Nice nice...
